Cable & Telecommunications

Our telecommunications and cable practice combines detailed knowledge of telecommunications, cable, administrative law and economic principles, regulatory practice and complex new technologies. We also represent clients involved in the purchase and sale of broadcast and cable properties. We provide all legal services related to such transactions, including negotiation and preparation of all contracts and related documents.

Our firm has acted as counsel to MetroComm, Ohio’s largest competitive access provider, since its initial filing with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), by participating in all the company’s major strategies and legal decisions, including PUCO, FCC and ALTS (Association for Local Telecommunications Services) filings and petitions.

Our attorneys have represented InfoLine, a 900 number service bureau, Poland Cablevision, B.V., the largest cable operator in the country of Poland, and Lenceltel, a Russian American joint venture operating a cable system with 60,000 subscribers in St. Petersburg, Russia. Our firm drafted the telecommunications policy for the City of Columbus, and represented the city before the PUCO in the Ameritech Alternative Regulation case. We have also represented All American Cablevision and Time Warner Cable.

Additionally, our firm negotiated and drafted the first fiber optic agreement in Ohio with Interactive Media Network. We currently represent numerous municipalities as counsel for cable television and telecommunications matters, including the Ohio cities of Columbus and Upper Arlington.
