Our firm's established labor and employment law practice effectively addresses our business clients evergrowing needs. We are equipped to handle any and all employment litigation matters, including, discrimination claims, harassment (including effective prevention, proper method of investigation and defense), emotional distress, defamation, negligent hiring, training and supervision claims, issues surrounding the Family Medical Leave Act ("FMLA"), American's With Disabilities Act ("ADA"); organized labor related issues, trade secrets, noncompetition covenants, wrongful termination claims and workers' compensation claims. In addition, we specialize in writing employee handbooks, supervisor manuals, drug and alcohol policies, sexual harassment policies, personnel policies, noncompete agreements, confidentiality agreements, and labor contracts.

We regularly advise both public and private sector clients and litigate matters involving federal and state constitutional, and statutory claims in a variety of forums including federal, state and administrative, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC), State of Ohio Personnel Board of Review (PBR), Ohio Bureau of Employment Services (OBES) and civil service appeals.

Our labor law practice deals with issues regarding collective bargaining negotiations, defense of grievances and arbitrations, unfair labor practice proceedings, and representational issues before the State Employment Relations Board (SERB) and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

We work with businesses to develop practical employment policies and procedures and assist with insuring their compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning fair labor standards, including minimum wage, overtime laws and non-discrimination requirements. We also conduct training programs for effective employee relations.

Our workers' compensation attorneys advise our clients with respect to the prevention of claims, initial claim investigation, and we follow through with the administrative process with the appropriate administrative entity or court. Our attorneys handle a variety of injury and occupational disease claims, including asbestosis, chemical injuries, and repetitive motion injuries, such as basic lifting and slip and fall injuries. Our expertise also includes defending alleged violations of specific safety requirements (VSSR) in the workplace.
