Managing Partner Larry H. James and Associate Christopher Green recently presented at the 2022 Law Enforcement Labor Summit. The Labor Summit took place from February 22-23, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During the Labor Summit, several speakers presented on critical areas that impact labor relations for law enforcement and the public at-large. Topics covered during this year’s Labor Summit included updates on collective bargaining and community policing, COVID-19 issues, and strategies for handling critical incidents and “breaking news” cases. Over 100 participants registered for the two-day event.

On February 22, Mr. Green presented on judicial decisions and collective bargaining practices regarding challenges to mandatory vaccine policies. Additionally, Mr. Green’s presentation discussed successfully negotiated bargaining agreements that address the impacts of COVID-19. On February 23, Mr. James took part in a panel discussion focused on the significant issues, pitfalls, defenses, and politics of representing labor employment organizations in controversial cases. Mr. James discussed these matters in the context of criminal and civil litigation, arbitrations, disciplinary boards, and internal affairs investigations.

Mr. James has served as General Counsel to the National Fraternal Order of Police since 2001, and Mr. Green serves as Associate General Counsel to the National FOP. The National FOP is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers with more than 356,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges across the United States.
